Fat Loss Myths
So you want to lose weight? You are perhaps tired of paying
hundreds of dollars in fat loss products that don't work, fad diets that don't
help, and weight loss experts that don't do anything other than grabbing your
money and putting it into their pockets. So, if you are tired of all these then
don't feel discouraged; there is a free way to lose weight and here's how to do
it.
Unfortunately, the weight loss industry is a victim of several myths that have
been propounded by the 'weight loss gurus' over the past few years, in an
attempt to sell their own products. Once you are able to separate myth from
reality, you will already be half way on the road to weight loss success.
1. The main reason you are overweight is because you have been eating the wrong
foods, consuming the wrong number of calories and eating at the wrong time. Get
this fact straight in your head. Many people would tell you that you are
overweight simply because you don't hit the gym daily. This is yet another myth.
I don't exercise much at all but I am not fat either. If you are overweight then
you have been eating the wrong types of foods at the wrong times. Once you
change your meal pattern everything else will automatically fall in place.
If you want to lose weight, you need to start eating right foods at the right
time. Also, you need to change your food habits. If you have been eating one
large meal at night then you need to break that into three or four portion sizes
and eat each portion every four or five hours. This way, your body won’t get a
lot of glucose to burn and then it will have to burn your body fat in order to
produce energy.
2. The second thing you need to know is that when it comes to burning fat, fads
and formulas seldom work well. There are several fad diets available and most of
them either don't work or harm your body more than they do good. Take for
example, the low calorie diets. Let's say that you are eating a daily diet
consisting of 3,000 calories. One day, out of the blue, you decide to have a
diet of only 1,500 calories. Do you think your body is such a fool that it won't
be able to detect this change? Your body will know the trick that you are up to
and then it will begin to burn fewer calories than before. After sometime, you
will see that you’re not losing weight any more!
