Why Fad Diets and Fat Loss Don't Go Together
Do you know why you have been unable to come to a decision
regarding your fat loss plans? When you are determined to lose weight, the
biggest stumbling block that you are likely to face is that of confusion and
anxiety. Will you be able to make all those sacrifices that are necessary? Will
you be able to follow a definite diet plan without troubling your body? Will you
really be able to become slimmer by the end of the year? I am sure these
questions have bothered you for a long time, and it is not unnatural!
Every individual who makes an effort to lose weight for the first time faces
such confusion and indecision. This article was written in an effort to help you
make a decision as to whether you should lose weight or not, as well as how you
should go about it!
As a matter of fact, the one thing you need to do is to stop running around and
doing the latest and greatest fad diet plans. Don't let yourself be consumed by
all the marketing hype around you. For most people, fad diets don't work the way
they should! Also if someone claims to have discovered a diet with 'low impact
carbs', don't believe them! Instead, believe in nature.
If you take some time to look around mother nature, you will find that nature
has different kinds of food varieties and food groups in her bosom. Why do you
think different types of food groups exist? If people are supposed to survive
only on one food group, as the fad diet plans instruct, why has nature made
different food groups available to us? Well, the answer to this question is that
we need to eat foods from different food groups in order to create a balance
within our body. If we remove a single food group from our diet, it creates an
imbalance within our body and we are in real trouble. Consider fats, for
example.
Most of the fad diet plans will have you believe that you shouldn't eat fats at
all! That is complete and utter nonsense!. You should definitely eat fats, as
they are an important energy source for your body. You should go for the
unsaturated fats such as olive oil, oil from nuts, etc. Unsaturated fats won't
clog your heart and arteries; on the other hand, they will keep your body
healthy and fit. What you should avoid are the saturated fats such as butter and
other dairy products. Saturated fats do nothing other than to increase your
cholesterol levels which in turn clog your arteries and heart.
A good diet should consist of whole grains, lots of fresh fruits, nuts, white
bread, etc. If you want you can follow a certain diet plan but only if it is
either made by you or custom-made for you by your doctor or nutritionist. Don't
go after the fad diet plans or you are bound to suffer in the long run.
